SPM: result finally out!

i woke up in the morning knowing that it's going to be the day. it was 6.05am, kindda late, well at least it's considered late since i've been waking up at 5.45am or so for the past 2 and a half months. but 6.05am is still 'early' when you are at home, right? hehe..

so yeah, finally i woke up at god-knows-when, shower, put 2 slices of bread into the toaster and made myself a cup of nesvita, dry my hair and sat in front of the comp, doing nothing. well, i missed the internet terribly what! and it turned out that my internet went dead for the rest of the day, damn it (sorry!)

p/s: i edited the posting date, in case you are wondering..

anyway, moving on... i finally get dressed up and was on the way to school at about 10.3am or so, feeling a bit anxious and dont know what to expect of my result. i was just hoping that at least i get 8A's. that's when Jubili called: Yvonne? where the hell are you? can you like come now? fast? i mean like now? very fast? i was like monologuing can you not swear at me? lol. anyway, his phone call sounds like good news. so finally reached the school and the first thing that came to mind was: is this my school? or is it my camp? fact was both those places have the same fencing design! pinkish red concrete below plus green chain linked fencing. when i was in camp, i used to think that it looks like my school, now it's the other way round! hmm....

when i entered the school compound, i kindda feel awkward. i can see lots of juniors, i mean juniors as in form 1 students who looks innocent but i doubt they are, hehe. so i just ignore them and move along, wondering where on earth are my classmates and friends. finally i saw them! but i didn't even actually get the chance to greet them. everyone was like busy trying to make us take photos and congratulating me for i-have-no-idea-why. i was like teacher, where can i get my result? for like 3 times before mdm jennifer finally handed me my result. the photographing continued, so i didnt get the chance to look at my result. all i know was that marie yong pulling me to her side and jennifer! come here!

after the so called glamour-for-no-reason session, i finally got my eyes on my result and went and look for my dad to show off my result ( i know i'm vain, but i can only show off to my family, haha). well, i was grateful with my result, but i'd be much happier getting 8 A1's and 3 A2's. haha. anyway, that was not my result la. my result wasn't as good as that, but it's good enough to make people around me happy. that's the whole point! a family friend was much more excited than my dad, haha!

anyway, after that we went to the principal room to be interviewed. i'm not a straight A student but i was there just because i have an extra A for taking up the subject i cursed during SPM : principle of accounting. ironic huh? the interview was okay... but it came to a point where i was so glad that marie yong was not around when the question was posted. the reporter was asking if we are in the same study group. frankly speaking, i never considered what my friends and i did as group study, so i said no. the smart ass boy (you all know who he is) looked at shana and me and said: no, just the two of us *pointing at me and him* guess what the reporter asked? are you couple? i was like god, why does everyone have that idea? even an outsider who just met us for less than 20 mins? we didn't even do ANYthing at all!! i could only say NO!~ thank god ricky was still sane enough to explain: no, just friends, best friends. *sigh* well, come to think of it now, i guess we can consider what we did as group study, since we do study and do our homework together a lot.

after that, we went to the school hall. another embarrassing experience which i shall not share here in detail. just something cg maimon mentioned and asked about us. well, at least for ONCE she didn't go di mana ada ricky, di situ ada yvonne. i'll go like terjun lombong oh! luckyly the lombong is one china sea away! otherwise it would be double suicide. so geramji la wei! oh yeah, she even pointed out the obvious: i'm darker now. sheesh!

though i'm quite happy with my result, but it's not exactly satisfying, but still i'm grateful. but there are certain things that happened which made me a bit unhappy, but i shall not talk about that here either. hmm.. but i'm proud of my school. 24 of us getting 7A's and above =)

so what's my result like? this~
    • Bahasa Melayu - 1A
    • Bahasa Inggeris - 1A GCE-O - 1A
    • Pengetahuan Moral - 2A
    • Sejarah - 1A
    • Mathematics - 1A
    • Additional Mathematics - 3B
    • Prinsip Perakaunan - 2A LCCI - 3
    • Physics - 2A
    • Chemistry - 2A
    • Biology - 1A
    • English for Science and Technology - 1A
my results are rather ironic. i love physics, followed by chemistry. and i get 2A for both subjects. but i cant doubt that physics was way too hard. i hate bio, and EST (sheesh) and i get 1A for both subjects. ironic, right?

  6. hahah.. thanks! =)
PPSMI? lol, he quoted me on paper, but he quoted HALFway only. which makes my statement on the paper sounds so like.. tergantung and ridiculous *sigh*.. the statement on the paper dose not makes any sense to me ..hoho

"but english is actually much easier... we should continue with it (the present language used in teaching)because it is a good way to prepare ourselves" [to prepare for what again?]*sigh*

  7. Unfortunately, the paper did not say anything about your incident. Ooooh, nestum...to much A crazy people in the world...and, and, I think the Malaysian newspapers are running a smear campaign against A Samad Said and the Malay nationalists. Pengetua sounded intelligent.

  8. oh shussh kani!! where do you think we (me, ricky, pengetua and warga smsm) are going to put out face if that incident was in paper? lol. of coz pengetua sounded inteligent "we should move forward" i think that's what she said, based on my memory la..haha.. but the demonstration with a samad said in it was kinda hmm.. nevermind..

p/s: little puck is my sister.. TERuse her ID to leave the comment. oops!

  9. I bet that if the government wanted to revert back to Malay, pengetua and the press would wholeheartedly support "going back to the past".

    ReplyDelete
  10. right. but i'd rather move forward. there's no reason to say that our students cannot perform in english. for goodness sake, during our parents' time, if THEY can, why cant we? last time no technology or ABM, and they still can.. so no reason why our generation cant

  11. The argument was, that the change was too drastic and irresponsible. In St. Michael and Sabah it's not a problem at all, because we were Englishmen pre-1963. No doubt some nationalists want an outright revertion to Malay just because of "agama, bangsa dan negara", but the more sensible ones have a more sensible argument. Most teachers who teach especially in the Peninsula are not well versed in English, and they tend to teach in BM. Now, if the government can adequately train the teachers to be more proficient in English, then and only then will a globalised Malaysia be a reality. You should not drag a tadpole out of the water immediately, it needs time and getting used to. The government has failed to comfortably move teachers into a new environment and as thus, there are protests.

  12. well, yeah.. a bit too drastic. but 6 years is a LONG time to adapt. maybe the secondary students would have some trouble adapting. but the primary school students have nothing to adapt, they are learning it fresh and new all from the beginning. about the agama bangsa and negara thingy, i think we could discuss that in ym. dont wanna get into trouble here..hehe.. silap2 kena ISA hohoho...i think i should put a disclaimer la! anyway, yeah.. some teachers teach in BM, and obviously students have no choice but to answer in BM coz they have no idea how to answer in english. but the edu director (i think) said in a press release, that most students opt to answer in english. doesnt that show and reflect the students' choices and opinion of whether PPSMI should continue or not?

    ReplyDelete
  13. 6 years is sufficient for the students to adapt, but not the teachers. The teachers need to be retrained. Yes, the director of education said most students opt to answer in English, but this is based mainly on East Malaysia, where English language is commanded well. Just like the election, most of their seats were in East Malaysia, while they got less than half of the seats in semenanjung Malaysia. If they seperate the statistics for East and Semenanjung, less thank half of the Semenanjung students would have answered in English.

  14. then he should have stated that =.='
i mean, that the EM students opt to answer in eng, while the WM students opt bm. then again, EM students are a bit left behind when it comes to edu quality, everyone knows that. if EM students can catch up, i believe that the WM students with more high tech ABM in school should be able to perform better. but maybe the big problem now is the teachers themselves, if they dont take the initiative to learn and adapt, then dont blame the students for not performing well la. you cant expect the blind to lead the blind!

  15. Been reading comments here makes me wonder if My English has rotten

oh well, yeah.. it does sound hanging.. but i think it's fine!

anyway, I have no say in PPSMI.. either way has pro and con. The language to me doesn't play a huge role, i just wish the Education in general is better.

    ReplyDelete
  16. haha, dont worry, your english is still fine..

i agree with that, the edu in general should be better. probably before the edu conducted PPSMI, at the 1st place they should have make sure that our english is up to a certain standard. i mean, at least make the students understand english 1st. of cause the students are in deep shit when they cant even understand english and now you give them maths and science with all the termonology in english. but in fact, the termnology in BM or english are almost, if not exactly the same. the only difference in probably the spelling. but yes, theres pro and con in PPSMI
